Canvas Conf: A Quick Sketch

Introduction

On Friday I visited Birmingham to attend Canvas Conf, organised by Tom Martin and the great folk at 383 Project.

Canvas Conf is a one day conference aimed at front-end developers. There were some great speakers on show, so I felt honoured to take the first slot and show what Pusher is all about.

Thanks Birmingham for the warm reception. It was great to get a new audience excited about what Pusher can deliver. Not only did I meet some great developers, but I also brushed up on my CSS – a great day all round!

For my presentation I talked everyone through the background of the Realtime Web, related technologies and how to get started with Pusher. I included a live coding demo, showing how to connect to Pusher and how to publish and subscribe to events.

I’ve uploaded the slides and demo code from my talk onto GitHub:

I hope you enjoyed the talk, and look forward to bumping into you at another event soon.
